POWER OUTAGE - VANS STADENS WIND FARM

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that an 22kV circuit breaker has tripped at the Fitches Corner / Van Standens Wind Farm substation, resulting in a power outage affecting, Van Stadens Wind Farm and surrounding areas.
Our technical team has been dispatched to assess the situation and carry out the necessary repairs. Power supply will be restored as soon as it is safe and technically feasible to do so.

NMBM wishes to advise the residents that due to a system failure, no applications for Professional Driving Permit( PRDP) can currently be processed at the Driving Licence Testing Centres.
This system failure is being experience at a National level and technicians are attending to it.
Residents that have made prior appointments online have 7 days to return and complete transactions. It won’t be necessary to re-book.

WATER SUPPLY DISRUPTION - CHELSEA ZONE & KWANOBUHLE
30 June 2025
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to inform residents that the Loerie bulk water pipe experienced a burst over the weekend, which has since been repaired.
When the system was reopened, a mechanical fault on a valve was discovered, which resulted in reduced water flow. This caused a drop in reservoir levels.
Municipal teams have since resolved the issue, reopened the line, and restored supply to the reservoirs.
Water supply is expected to return from this morning and continue being restored throughout the course of the day.
